Director Gagan Puri tries to take us back in time in the era of the 90’s aka Doordarshan, when that was the only source of entertainment for the masses. Co-produced by Sandeep Arya Films and Ritu Arya, Doordarshan is a light hearted family comedy drama that reflects upon the changes in times between the 90s and today, especially focusing on how entertainment was perceived then and now.
The start cast of the film is equally interesting, featuring noted actors such as Mahie Gill and Dolly Ahluwalia in lead roles, the other cast includes Manu Rishi Chadha, Supriya Shukla, Rajesh Sharma, Mehak Manwani and Shardul Rana.
Doordarshan is a small town story in North India where the elderly granny wakes up from the coma after a span of 35 years. Hilarious situations unfold as the granny is unawares that she is now in 2020 and the family tries to recreate the 1990s scenario for the grandmother. The trailer released recently had found huge fan following, especially since the generation of the 1980s can totally relate and resonate with the theme of the film.
The music is composed by Meet Brothers. The film is slated to release on February 28, 2020.
