Khan suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumor
Irrfan Khan, an actor par excellence succumbs today to a rare form of cancer. He had been battling neuroendocrine tumor for the past 2 years. He was 53. The actor was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai just the previous day. He was under observation for his colon infection. Looks like it’s been a “Cruel Summer” for Irrfan Khan’s family, as they witness 2 deaths in less than a week! Irrfan’s mother passed away recently.
Khan Attends Mother Saeda Begum’s Funeral via Video Call
Just last Saturday, Irrfan Khan’s mother Saeda Begum passed away in Jaipur. She was 95 and died a natural death. Due to the ongoing lockdown, Irrfan Khan wasn’t able to reach for his mom’s last rites in person and attended the funeral online through video conferencing.

Irrfan Khan’s last movie, ‘Angrezi Medium’, was released just days before the nation went into lockdown. The film was later released on Disneyplus Hotstar VIP. The movie considered to be a sequel to widely acclaimed “Hindi Medium” was Irrfan’s come back movie. Unfortunately, it also happened to be his last film.
Irrfan Khan had a royal lineage, as his mother belonged to the Tonk family. His father, Late Yaseen Khan had a tire business. Irrfan Khan married his college sweetheart Sutapa Sikdar in 1995. The duo met at the National School of Drama and fell in love. Sutapa is a notable film dialogue writer. Irrfan Khan has 2 sons, Babil and Ayan.
