Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan celebrates his birthday today. Born on 10th January, 1974 to parents Rakesh Roshan and Pinky Roshan. He has an elder sister Sunaina. Married to Suzanne Khan, daughter of Sanjay and Zarine Khan. The couple have two sons Hrehaan (5) and Hridhaan (3). Note the pronunciation of their names same as their father’s.
Hrithik had a traumatised childhood due to his stammering which went on till the age of six. During one of the interviews the actor said “For oral tests at school, I used to bunk school, I used to fall sick, I used to break my hand, I used to get a sprain”. But things changed after he started practising speech therapies on daily basis. Known to have
two thumbs on his right hand, which is mostly hidden in his movies, but in his movie “Koi… Mil Gaya” it was shown as a plot since the alien too was design with two thumbs.
Hrithik Roshan before becoming a full fledge actor did a small role as a child artist in his fathers film “Bhagwaan Dada”. Later in the year 2000 his debut film “Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai” opposite debutant actress Amisha Patel, was a blockbuster in the box office. It was his home production, directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan and music by his uncle Rajesh Roshan.
Year 2000 for the Roshan’s was one of the best in 25years. “Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai” took maximum awards that night. Rajesh Roshan got the best music director award. Rakesh Roshan got his first filmfare award as a director as well as a producer. Hrithik was the only actor who got two awards for debutant as well as for the best actor’s award respectively. Young and Old generation became a Hrithik maniac, especially for his dancing abilities.
After that there was no looking back. Hrithik went on to do more and more challenging and different roles. He has won many awards and also has his wax statue placed in the famous ‘Madame Tussauds’ in London on 20th January 2011. Known to be one of the toughest statue made by Tussauds, which took 4 months to get it complete.
Hrithik also made his debut as a singer in the movie “Kites”. There after he lend his voice for “Zindagi Na Mile Dobara” and “Guzaarish”.
Hrithik Roshan plays the role of ‘Vijay Dinanath Chauhan’ in “Agneepath” a remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer with the same name. This movie is slated to release on Republic Day ie. On 26th January 2012.
