Season of Comebacks

Bollywood is witnessing the comeback and re-entry of some of its veteran stars, who once rocked cinema halls with their presence. Yes, here we are talking about stunning beauties like, Karishma Kapoor and the Dhak Dhak girl, Madhuri Dikshit. Madhuri is one of those of bollywood actresses whose name guaranteed the success of the film. However, after marriage to Dr. Nene, she distanced herself from films, preferring to look after her family. Her comeback movie “Aaja Nach Le” in 2007, based on a dancer’s life was not too well received and proved to be a big flop despite a good storyline. People started talking about the end of Madhuri’s karishma. However, her recent decision to relocate in Mumbai and leaving USA forever has given rise to many rumors regarding her comeback. Director Abhishek Choubey and producer Vishal Bhardwaj find her the most suitable face for the sequel of “Ishqiya” which will be known as “Dedh Ishqiya”, where you will find Madhuri paired with Irrfan Khan.

Apart from the queen of bollywood, the style diva and princess of bollywood, the Kapoor daughter Karishma Kapoor aka Lolo is ready with new projects to shake bollywood once again with her glamorous performances. She is working in Vikram Bhatt’s movie, “Dangerous Ishq”, which is a female-oriented movie. She will also appear in the remake of “Satte Pe Satta”. Lolo will play the role of Hema Malini and Sanjay Dutt is the male lead.   There is good news for her fans, who wants to communicate with her in virtual world. Karishma Kapoor is soon going to have a twitter account. Vikram Bhatt confirmed this news saying, “With the gorgeous Karishma Kapoor… she is getting on twitter soon and wants to convey to her fans that she is really excited to be back.”

When the talk is of comebacks, how can one forget the handsome Punjabi actor, Jimmy Shergil, who thrilled many hearts in Yashrajs’ “Mohabbtein”, but could not repeat the same magic in his other movies?  Though he may not have done well in Bollywood, he is an iconic name in Punjabi cinema and hugely popular among the Punjabi diaspora.  Jimmy Shergill turned into a film producer in 2011 with a big Punjabi hit “Dharti”. He is now ready to do the same in bollywood.

Jimmy has not been far from bollywood and has charmed the cinema loving public with different characters in selected movies like Eklavya, Tanu Weds Manu, Game, Dum Maro Dum, et al. His upcoming movie “Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster”, where he is sharing screen space with Mahie Gil and Randeep Hudda is already in the news and much awaited. Tigmanshu Dhulia of “Hasil” fame is the director of the movie and according to Jimmy, “I play Saheb who can go do anything to keep his glory…royalty intact. He will not hesitate not to go to any extent even in a bad way.”    Now he is planning to start a new innings in B-Town as a producer, when asked about his new venture, he said, “I want to make entertaining films for the audience…not documentary types,”…….. “Once we lock the script we would decide on the actors….don’t know how much time all this will take,”
