ROCKSTAR – A Hindi Musical Drama

Ranbir Kapoor and debutant Nargis Fakhri starrer ROCKSTAR presented by Eros International Media Ltd. and Shree Astavinayak Cinevision is all set to hit the silver screen on 11th November, 2011. The film also stars Late Shammi Kapoor. It is his last appearance on silver screen. This romantic drama is directed by the JAB WE MET director Imtiaz Ali and is produced by Dhillin Mehta. Irshad Kamil has penned the lyrics and the music of this movie is composed by none other than A.R. Rahman. ROCKSTAR has 14 tracks out of which 9 nine tracks have been sung by Mohit Chauhan. T-Series has bought the audio rights of this Bollywood movie.

Synopsis:

Janardan (Ranbir Kapoor) belongs to Pitampura – a middle class locality in Delhi. He is an ordinary boy with some extra-ordinary dreams. He is a great fan of Jim Morrison and wants to be a rockstar like him. But the audience doesn’t accept him because of which he always feels humiliated. Later on, he realizes that he needs a tragedy to change his dream into reality. All artists and musical stars became successful because of the heartbreaks and sufferings they went through. However, Janardan lives a It is at this point that he meets Heer Kaul – the undisputed diva of college campus. This rich, arrogant and beauty is known as the heart breaking queen. Janardan frames a plan to woo her. All he wants her to do is to break his heart so that he can realize his dreams of becoming a rock star. ROCKSTAR is the journey of a boy who becomes Jordan from Janardan to achieve what he wants by losing his heart forever.

He is born and brought up in Delhi and belongs to a very middle class background. He dreams of becoming  an iconic Rockstar just like his ideal, Jim Morrison. He doesn’t know how it feels after a heart break. All he believes is that a broken heart is very essential to be a successful musician. But then he meets Heer Kaul, the that he goes through the musician in him. This was one of the most challenging roles for Ranbir Kapoor.

Nargis Fakhri aka Heer Kaul:

She is the new starlet in tinsel town. She is playing the character of a classy, arrogant, campus diva who loves to play with people’s heart. But then a geek from Delhi requests her to please break his heart. Soon, she realizes that Janardan is the man who can unlock her wilder side. She gets into relationship with him and finally breaks his heart.

Shammi Kapoor aka Ustad Jameel Khan:

The character of Ustad is played by the original Rockstar of bollywood – Late Shammi Kapoor. Ustad is the first person to launch Janardan after recognizing his incredible talent.
