Cricket World Cup 2011: Bollywood Cricket Maniac

The largest security operation will take place in Mohali where mother of all battles will take place on Wednesday, which will also be attended by the prime ministers of both countries. India plays Pakistan in a World Cup semi-final, which has fascinated the whole of nation.

And when we talk about Indian fans, how can we leave Bollywood behind.

Our very own Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, true-blood sport enthusiast, has declared screening of Indo-Pak match with his close friends at his home theatre, Mannat, on 30th March. SRK has chucked off all appointments to watch this match. Those who have received invitations for the D-day have also cancelled their meetings. Gauri is gearing up for a special menu for the match. SRK’s guest list includes Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay and wife Maheep Kapoor, Chunky and Bhavna Pandey, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.

Incidentally Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar have also been invited by Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan. Like Shahrukh Khan, he has also planned to watch the interesting match between India and Pakistan at his home with his few close friends like Amin Haji, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Raju Hirani and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and family, including newly-wed nephew Imran Khan who will be watching the crucial match at his Mammujaan’s house. Aamir has taken a break from Reema Kagti’s film Zakhmi, to host this cricket party. In fact he also has taken a day off on 2nd April for the finals.

Well, the parties organised by the Khans have raised the temperature of the on-going World Cup fever!

Our Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan too is keen to watch Wednesday’s India-Pakistan World Cup semi-final, which he says has caused “unbelievable frenzy”. Cricket mania is nothing new in Bollywood. So let’s cross our fingers and hope our Indian Team wins with flying colours.
