Bollywood celebrates parallel New Year festivities

Gudi Padwa is a special day which marks the beginning of the New Year for Maharashtrians. Different people celebrate it in different style. It is also one of the most auspicious days which signify to invest in gold or fixed assets, or begin new projects and business ventures. This day also celebrates Ugadi, which is New Year for the Telugu population and also Kashmiri New Year Navreh.

Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade celebrating Gudi Padwa means about family get-together. “We celebrate Gudi Padwa in the traditional style. My wife and my dad specifically take interest in organising and actively participating in the festivities. However I take pleasure in the family get-togethers. My mom always pokes me that I don’t take part in the festivities.”

However, Shreyas will not celebrate the auspicious festival this year as he is occupied with the shooting his upcoming film MALAMAAL WEEKLY 2. ”This year I will miss celebrating Gudi Padwa as I am shooting for my upcoming film MALAMAAL WEEKLY 2,” says Shreyas.

Meanwhile Shreyas is also gearing up for his upcoming release ‘HOUSEFULL 2.

Bollywood hottie actress Isha Koppikar, who happens to be Marathi mulgi, always celebrates Gudi Padwa on a big scale at her house. This year the actress will be reaching just in the nick of time to be a part of the festivities. The actress incidentally has never missed the occasion before, “I have never missed Gudi Padwa and have always celebrated it with my parents and relatives. As kids, my brother and I would look forward to playing with our cousins. I even bought my first car on this day,” recollects the actress. Gudi Padwa is also special for the Koppikar family as Isha’s parents got married on this auspicious day as well.

On this occasion,  Bollywood stars have tweeted their friends and fans on the New Year festivals of Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Navreh. And many of the celebs even expressed their festive feelings in Marathi!
